It is recalled that the National Leader's household has a history of providing youth and women with small startup capital to help them expand their income-generating activities. Early beneficiaries, including bakers, were provided with ovens and dough mixers. Tailors received sewing machines, while salon operators were given hair dryers. In a significant scale-up, officials from the State House began their inspection tours of these areas last week.

Â
Faizo Ndase, the head of the initiative, commended the people of Kawempe for utilizing the provided seed capital effectively. He emphasised that the funds are intended for genuine development. He further announced that the National Leader's household plans to guide them in forming a Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisation (SACCO) to ensure sustainable growth.

According to officials from the National Leader's household, this wealth creation strategy was launched in 2020. Its primary goal was to combat youth unemployment, initially focusing on Kampala. Plans are, however, underway to roll out the program to other districts. The program receives crucial financial oversight from Jane Barekye, the State House Comptroller.
