KAMPALA, UGANDA – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) will launch its manifesto for the 2026-2031 electoral cycle on September 29 at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The chief guest at the event will be the party's flagbearer for the 2026 presidential election.

This follows the official nomination of Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni yesterday as the NRM's presidential candidate. During the event, he will unveil his manifesto, outlining what Ugandans should expect if they re-elect him in 2026.

Tension Flares in NRM Primaries as Loser in Kasanda South Rejects Results, Declares Independent Bid


 
A dispute has erupted in the Kasanda South constituency following the NRM party primaries. One of the losing candidates, Eria Mubiru, has rejected the results and declared his intention to run as an independent candidate in the upcoming general elections.

The youth elections, initially scheduled to take place during the NRM Conference at Kololo Independence Grounds last month.

Lubaga, Kampala, Uganda – The newly elected NRM flag bearers in Lubaga Division have pledged to work together to secure a victory for the party in the 2026 general elections. The leaders, who were recently nominated in the party primaries, held a unity meeting to strategise and strengthen collaboration among themselves.

KAMPALA - A group of National Resistance Movement (NRM) members, who were forced to step down from the forthcoming youth and entrepreneurship elections, are demanding the party compensate their campaign expenses.

Youth elections to be held on 18th September but a section of these candidates has voiced their concern over how they were forced out of the race and are now seeking a meeting with the President Museveni.

The NRM is making efforts to ensure that the youth elections are free, fair, and credible after previous exercises were marred by irregularities and complaints.

Kampala, Uganda – The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has announced a revised roadmap for conducting fresh elections for youth leaders, particularly for positions on the Central Executive Committee (CEC) and regional youth representatives. The elections are scheduled to take place on 18th October of this year.
