The MP aspiring for Ruhinda north constituency Dr. Saturday David has contested against the deputy speaker Thomas Tayebwa accusing him of neglecting the residents of Ruhinda north in the last ten years.

Dr.Saturday David claims he wants to unseat the honourable Tayebwa who has been very inactive in the constituency for poor service delivery.His concentration is now on the administrative aspect leaving out a common man in Ruhinda.Its time for him to proceed with parliamentary administrative work than constituency responsibility.

He has mentioned services such as education which have been lagging behind. Saturday further accuses Tayebwa of only concentrating on national issues leaving out issues affecting the constituency.

Saturday further says Tayebwa  was only active in the first term however later he has not addressed challenges affecting the constituency.

He becomes the first NRM candidate to contest against Tayebwa.

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the National Chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), is expected to officially pick nomination forms this Saturday from the party's Electoral Commission offices in Kampala. This move marks the beginning of his journey to retain both the party chairmanship and the NRM presidential flag bearer position ahead of the 2026 general elections.

In a decisive political development, Mawokata South MP Hon. SUZAN Nakawuki has been declared the sole contender for the NRM party ticket after a surprise twist at today’s nominations.
 
What was anticipated as a competitive nomination day turned into a victory lap for Hon. Nakawuki. As the nomination window closed, the NRM Electoral Commission confirmed ,no other aspirants had submitted papers to challenge her. This paves the way for her to retain the party flag unchallenged for Mawokata South.

While I was opposition it was easy to ask for a vote,I only needed to speak against government programs, but now there is a cost implication

Akol last week thronged NRM plot 13 kyadondo welcomed with a large applause at the secretariat  by the party electro commission  chair man Dr.Tang Odoi.He was accompanied by Acholi traditional dancers who were singing Acholi traditional songs praising him.
