The 32nd national agriculture and livestock exhibition has officially opened at the Jinja Showground along the Nile River in Jinja City.
The organizers of this exhibition from the Uganda National Farmers Federation have announced that this year's event has been expanded with many new features, with the aim of helping farmers and livestock keepers improve their practices.
They have called upon the public to attend the exhibition in large numbers so that they can learn from what has been prepared for them. The 32nd agriculture and livestock exhibition is now in its fourth day since it began last week. For this edition, the organizers have revealed that there are more exhibitors than ever before, and the items on display are also numerous and diverse.

The government agency Operation Wealth Creation is among those showcasing special skills and technologies through other institutions such as the Uganda Prisons Services. The Uganda Prisons Services have displayed unique items to help farmers and livestock keepers, especially those benefiting from government funds including the Parish Development Model and other programs. While explaining some of the items on display at this exhibition, Behabura Generous from the Uganda Prisons Services noted that many people have failed to benefit from the funds they receive for development due to lack of knowledge and skills on how to rear animals and farm using small spaces. They have exhibited animal feeds, designs for animal shelters, and they are confident that once farmers follow what they will be taught, they will benefit greatly in both farming and livestock keeping.
The exhibition organizers have expressed optimism that this event will empower farmers and livestock keepers in every way, and they are urging all stakeholders in agriculture and livestock to turn up in large numbers to see the exhibits and learn from what is available. The exhibition has been warmly received by the people of Jinja and those who have come from all other regions, as they seek to form connections that will help them achieve better yields in their work.

Agricultural experts present have noted that farming and livestock keeping methods have greatly changed, and farmers must adopt scientific approaches to make good profits in this era of climate change and agricultural transformation. As time progresses, this exhibition is expected to bring about change in the country's agriculture, contributing to the advancement of farming and livestock keeping in Uganda.
